I bought this mixer for my sister, who said she loved that the beaters are padded so that she can mix things even in a Teflon coated pan without damaging the coating. So when my old mixer died, I bought it with confidence. Ha! I whipped cream. In the deepest bowl, on the lowest setting, even with the beaters straight up and down, the cream sprays out in all directions. Same with egg whites. Beating cream and egg whites goes really fast, since the mixer is so powerful, but then you have to wipe the counter and backsplash down, and you had better have been wearing an apron. If you care about keeping your kitchen clean, choose a different mixer.

The mixer is not "too powerful!!!" it is just the right amount of speed. There is a button right below the speed changer, and it is called "Quick-burst" or something like that. It gives you a quick burst of power when you need to get through something. The people that have said that the mixer was too powerful, you must have been pressing that button! Also, this mixer is great for anything. The highest speed can easily handle dough with its dough mixers, and the cheesecake that I made with it turned out perfect, with no bumps... It was a masterpiece! This mixer is one of the cheapest hand mixers out there, and it is a strong made item.

I bought this because I needed a hand mixer to do things that these old hands can't do anymore. I used it for the first time last night. There is no LOW speed on this thing. I was splatter, as was most of my kitchen, with hot cream of potato soup. You turn it on and liquid goes everywhere. I'm returning this ASAP. It's too dangerous if you working with hot soups and sauces.
