I have had this set for over a year now and couldn't be more unhappy with it. The mixer does not reach the bottom of the glass bowl so regardless you still have to mix by hand to get all the flour and other ingredients off the bottom of the bowl. The mixer gets bogged down easily and between speeds of 3 and 4 it just stops. There's apparently a short between those speeds but if you giggle the switch it will work again.
The bowl is extremely heavy glass so once you've mixed your ingredients it's very difficult to man-handle the bowl to tilt it to get the ingredients poured in your pans. The beaters come out while mixing. I've pushed and pushed them in but once you lift the head the beaters often stay in the bowl. Not every time but enough that it's aggravating to have to dig your beaters out of wet cake mix.
I don't have a recommendation for something better. I'll keep using this one because I just can't afford another one. But I do recommend you pass on...Read more

I purchased this mixer from walmart for $20 on clearance. To begin, I will say that I would not pay much more than that for it. This is just a hand mixer with a cheap stand and a heavy glass bowl. That having been said, this mixer is great for people who just like to play around in the kitchen. I happen to love cooking, but I am not so into baking. In an attempt to broaden my horizons, I wanted to experiment with some simple baking--cookies, cakes from scratch, etc. I am in love with KitchenAid products, but I did not want to pay $200 for a mixer, only to find that I wasn't going to use it that much. This was a cheap way for me to experiment with the feel of a stand mixer without the astronomical cost.
As others have said, you do have to do some mixing by hand, but let's face it, this is not some fancy Food Network stand mixer. It is a glorified hand mixer. It isn't intended to be a product to help you with your massive Thanksgiving/Christmas baking. In fact, I would rate...Read more

Bought mine at Walmart for the same price. I got what I PAID for.
Every time I mix with this I have to do extra work with a spatula to move the dough around inside mixer for it to mix accordingly. It is very useful for someone that bakes occasionally and for fun. I bake every other day! so this item was not for me. I will invest in getting a Kitchen Aid electronic mixer.
