Amazon.com Review

For cooks who love a decorative touch, this iSi Dessert Whip can’t be beat. In just seconds, a pint of heavy cream yields four pints of whipped cream, ready to add to pies, cakes, coffee, and more. By means of a charger system, the dessert whip also churns out light and airy sauces, chocolate mousse, and tiramisu. A recipe booklet is included along with two styles of decorator tips that let the imagination run loose. The elegant one-pint, brushed aluminum bottle comes with one cream charger. --Ann Bieri

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gadget to impress in the kitchen!, February 2, 2004

I've been wanting one of these for a while, and I finally gave in to myself and bought one. It's great! I add a dash of sugar free vanilla syrup to the canister, and I have a great tasting spray of whipped cream whenever I want it! So much better than the chemical-laden canned version available at the grocery store, and it stays fresh and ready to use for as long as your cream's expiration date.I bought the pint size because I didn't want to waste the N2O chargers. It's one charge per refill, so as soon as you open the canister to refill the cream, you need to charge again. That means the half-pint canisters go through chargers twice as fast as the pint. and the cream's been fine for weeks at a time, as long as I buy the freshest heavy cream. It also look cool to pull out this brushed aluminum canister and spray on top of a dessert or hot drink, just like the professionals. I highly recommend this whipper, and I haven't even tried any fancy recipes yet!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Whipped Cream, July 26, 2007

Talk about a big hit with our family and friends! The whipped cream comes out perfect (as long as you screw on the nozzle tip so that it is level). I don't have to worry about beating the heavy cream too much or too little as when making homemade. I can easily decorate my desserts. The taste is far superior to the pre-made canned bought in the store. I can control the amount or kind of sweetening used.

When making our whipped cream, I put 3 heaping tsp. of powdered sugar in an easy to pour cup/bowl and add just enough heavy cream to form a smooth paste (this way you avoid lumps). I slowly mix in about half the pint of heavy cream to get a nice liquid and add about 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract. I then pour this liquid and the rest of the heavy cream into the chilled canister and assemble as directed in the instruction book. I plan to try real maple syrup instead of powdered sugar for pumpkin pie.

My husband bought this for me as a gift. It works wonderfully. It's very easy to use and clean. The cream keeps in the fridge for use any time. Each charger will preceftly charge a pint of cream. The only down side is there is not marking inside to indicate a max fill on the cream. So it becomes a guessing game if you buy a larger carton of cream. If you over fill the cream, the charger will not be able to whip all of it to a high consistancy. When you get to the bottom you will find the cream a bit runny.
